Karen Doehner has been the Administrative Coordinator for the Center for Spatial Studies (spatial@ucsb) since 2008. Before joining the Center, she was the Administrative and Editorial Assistant for the Center for Taiwan Studies and Financial Assistant in the Department of East Asian Languages at UCSB. Prior to undertaking administrative work at UCSB, with an M.A. in Cultural Resource Management (from Southern Methodist University), Karen had spent 18 years conducting archaeological research in the Peruvian highlands, specializing in the analysis of Andean fauna and overseeing the processing and curating of archaeological collections retrieved in excavation.
